coat of arms

Motto Translated: Content with one’s lot.

Wilby is a name that first reached England following the Norman Conquest of 1066.
The Wilby family lived in Lincolnshire, in the parish of Welby.
First found in Lincolnshire where they were descended from John, the Lord of Castleton,
around the time of William Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066 A.D.

Our name was originally Wilby but due to parish clerical errors in the 18th and
19th Centuries it came to have the spelling variation of "Willby".
